Ron Di Scenza will demonstrate the steps Rembrandt took when painting,
and will provide the source material for students to use in painting their Masterpiece.
Three days of intensive instruction and inspiration.
Ron Di Scenza
Ron Di Scenza is a master painter with the ability to paint anything. He finds inspiration in many ways from the landscapes to still life paintings and is a master at figurative painting. Living in Italy has given him a wide perspective of art and the art of life. Having worked as a stand up comic in his earlier years to Seinfeld and Willie Nelson and others, he brings laughter and comeraderie to the class in addition to teaching amazing skills he has learned over the years. This is an amazing opportunity to leapfrog over years of trial and error and enter the world of professional artist. Mary Martin will privately councel with students apart from this class on how to approach galleries.
Day 1 - Students will copy a portrait of the Master Artist, Rembrandt and learn his procedure. Reference will be provided.
Day 2 - Students will apply the technique to painting a still life. Reference will be provided.
Day 3 - Students will do a landscape or seascape of their choice. Students should come prepared with a photo of a scene that they want to do. Reference will be used as inspiration. However, Di Scenza will teach students to paint from their imagination.
The sescret to painting is understanding that a painting has a beginning and an end. This philosophy will be discussed in class. "Painting should be fun and not tortuous." Ron teaches the difference between decorative art and fine art. The process of painting, when experienced with Ron's philosophy, will be a joy of passing on the feelings you feel to the viewer. "Art lifts the spirits when it is painting with this in mind."
