Beth specializes in three types of commissioned works; Mother and Baby portraiture, group and individual portraits for children and young adults as well as creative project commissions. Below each type is more fully explained as well as the specifics of the commission process.
Mother Baby Portraits
Mother Baby portraits have a beautiful emotional magic about them and can include Beth's signature rose or other flower petal designs that add a touch of romance and beauty to the portrait. These make a wonderful surprise Anniversary, Birthday, Valentines Day or Christmas Presents for your spouse.
Individual or Group Portraits
Individual formal or casual portraiture make for a wonderful family heirloom to be passed down in the family for generations. These portraits can be more traditional with a black background or more casual with a landscape background with or without flower petals.
Beth is available for creative projects to suit your size, color scheme or subject matter needs. Options in this category include full figure portraiture, specially designed fanciful clothing, the addition of birds, pets or other exotic animals, as well as imaginary or specific location background scenery for your special project.
The Commission Process
Photographic References: For my international and non local portrait clients I am happy to collaborate with your family photographer to create a high resolution digital image from which to create the portrait. If you are local to or are traveling to the Naples, FL area a photoshoot in my studio or an outdoor location can be arranged. While I am happy to accept historical photos from a DSLR or film camera that meet my stringent requirements for portraiture, please note, that cell phone photos cannot be used to create your portrait. They lack the necessary color and facial feature details necessary to create a professional quality portrait.
Materials Used: For my paintings I prefer to use the latest in painting conservation science best practices. My paintings are completed on a polyester-cotton blend canvas. The canvas is mounted to a specially coated aluminum or wood panel using a heat reversible adhesive designed specifically for use with paintings. The painting itself is completed in high quality oil paint.
Framing: The cost of the commission does not include framing. I highly recommend that the painting be framed as the frame provides important protection for the painting during the shipping process. I can work with my local framer to provide a high quality frame at cost that suits your decor and budget if you so desire.
Shipping: Domestic or foreign shipping is separate and is quoted and billed to you at the time of shipping. For foreign shipping you will be responsible for any import duties, taxes and fees if applicable.
