Artist Biography
Eileen Dorsey was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She showed an apt for art at a young age, developing her craft all the way through college. In 2006, she graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. In 2009, she opened her studio doors inside the 78th Street Studios in the Gordon Square Arts District of Cleveland.
As with many prolific artists, Dorsey has created an abundant amount of work in various styles and mediums however, she is mostly known for her vibrant depictions of wooded scenes. Dorsey gathers reference material from the Cleveland Metroparks and surrounding areas of her home town. Her paintings have been described as realistic meets psychedelic.
Dorsey’s work can be found in many public spaces. She collaborated with another artist in 2017 to complete a 65’ mural on the Stockyard Meats building in Cleveland, Ohio. She is in the permanent collections of the ArtNeo Museum and University Hospitals, with work permanently displayed in the Cuyahoga County Administration Building of Cleveland and Southwest General Hospital in Berea, Ohio.
