"I am drawn to paint nature because of the emotion and sense of harmony that it brings. I grew up in California where spending time in nature brought me joy and provided me a deep connection to the world around me. My current life in Florida has allowed me to understand how differences in location affect light and color. I now paint with a Southern sensibility, drawing inspiration from the natural spaces around me. My floral paintings are depicted with loose and gestural strokes suggesting a brief moment in the life of a fragile, ephemeral and colorful subject. The loose brushwork also gives a sense of movement as if the subject is caught in a breeze.
I hope to bring the essence of nature to the canvas so that our interior spaces, and therefore our lives, remain connected to the beauty and harmony of the natural world."
